If you haven’t guessed by now, I love Gears of War. How can a big dude like me not love a game where all the male characters have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in manliness from Duke Nukem University? However, though I love the series, it has been striken with many issues on the online side of things, specifically in the multiplayer. Well, it seems that Epic and Microsoft are now taking the proper steps to correcting those issues. In 2011, a beta for the game will be launched, and it will have dedicated servers.
As is already known, Gears of War 3 has been delayed from April of 2011 to the holiday season of 2011. Despite whatever reason was given for the delay, more time given to polish a game is never a bad thing. On top of that, multiplayer betas have served very well for developers in fixing bugs and polishing an experience. Bungie has used them to their advantage in the past, so hopefully Epic will in this instance as well. Dedicated servers is a nice plus as well, guys.
Gears of War 3 will be released in the holiday season of 2011, and is developed by Epic Games.
For the record, I voted not to kill Carmine
