Ever wanted to play one of your favorite Zelda games in first person shooter action? Now you can, instead of waiting for somebody to try the crazy idea a man(fan) did something about it. While having the craving for retro 2D graphics, he used a Flash Unity graphics engine to his disposal, that effectively recreates the first chapter of Zelda II as a first-person mode action game. If you want to play the game, you’ll simply need to install the Unity Web Player plug-in. Unity is a plug-in that other browser-based games use to create 3D.
The game plays quite naturally in first person mode, additionally the same 2D textures were reused for the environments in the 3D version. The man even made all the characters and enemies fully polygonalized. To top it all off the games run at an impressive 60 frames per second. Enough talking though, you have to see this game in action and play a bit to realize it’s awesomeness.
What do you guys think? Isn’t it awesome?
